Welcome To The Carpenter Lab

We are a translational science laboratory aimed at understanding the  pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer.  Our research focuses on dissecting the heterogeneity of tumor cells and how interactions with their microenvironment lead to tumor growth and metastasis.  Ultimately, our goal is to identify new vulnerabilities to target for treatment.

We work within a larger multidisciplinary team of pancreas researchers at the University of Michigan.  Our multi-pronged approach to investigation includes utilizing patient-derived organoid models, single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and traditional biochemical techniques to capture multiple facets of the disease.
